Test Rules and Regulations

• The examination will be conducted offline (pen-and-paper mode).
• Candidates must bring their admit card and a valid photo ID to the examination center.
• No electronic gadgets, including mobile phones, calculators, or smartwatches, are allowed inside the examination hall.
• Each paper typically has a duration of 2 hours.
• Candidates must mark their answers on an OMR sheet using a black ballpoint pen only.

Scoring and Marking Scheme

Each paper in the CDS Examination typically carries 100 marks. The number of questions varies by paper (e.g., English and GK usually have 120 questions, while Mathematics has 100 questions). A negative marking scheme is applied for incorrect answers. Generally, one-third (0.33) of the marks assigned to a question are deducted for every wrong answer. Unattempted questions do not attract any penalty.
